ETEC Announces New IT Certification Course, Locations
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) July 21, 2006 -- ETEC, a center for technological education and certification, has recently announced the addition of two new campus locations--Chicago, Ill., and Herndon, Va.--and one new certification course, Cisco CCNP®, to its offerings.
Because organizations nationwide are experiencing reduced travel budgets, ETEC's customers have requested that ETEC offer more regional locations. Many students travel to the locations of ETEC's short-term "boot camp" classes, and ETEC aims to provide more convenient options to minimize travel distance whenever possible. ETEC chose the new locations for their proximity to airports and nearby accommodations.
The Chicago, Ill., facility is located 20 miles west of downtown Chicago in the suburb of Oakbrook, off of I-88 and equidistant from O'Hare and Midway Airports.
The Herndon, Va., facility is located 25 miles west of downtown DC in the Dulles/Worldgate area at the southern edge of Herndon, 3 miles away from Dulles Airport.
In addition to these locations, ETEC offers courses in Houston and at centers around the country. ETEC is also available to travel for customers needing on-site training.
The Cisco Certified Network Professional® (CCNP) certification indicates advanced or journeyman understanding of networks. ETEC's hands-on CCNP® class lasts 14 days and includes routing, switching, remote access, and support. Throughout the class, students take four required exams to earn their certification.
Having the CCNP® certification is a trusted indication that the person working on a network has a strong command of network skills and the ability to troubleshoot network problems. Because customers want to know that their networks are secure and working properly at all times in order to maximize output, the CCNP® is in high demand. ETEC's customers requested that the company begin offering CCNP® following the success of ETEC's other IT certification programs.
In ETEC's most recent CCNP® bootcamp, all of the students who completed the 14-day course achieved their CCNP certification. “The class is a great balance between test prep and real-world hands-on experience,” said instructor Phil Stout. “The majority of the students scored very well on each of the four exams required to obtain the CCNP certification.”
ETEC's course offerings include a large list of popular IT certifications, including but not limited to: CompTIA Network+, A+, and Security+; Cisco CCNA and CCNP; introductory Linux classes and Linux RHCE; Microsoft MCSA and MCSE; and the CISSP. ETEC also plans to launch public classes in Ethical Computer Hacking and Computer Forensics soon.
