Cisco recently announced a new Network Security certification program: Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security). This new certification program is for Cisco Network Security Engineers who are responsible for testing, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting the core technologies that make up a Cisco secure network. The CCNP Security assesses an engineer’s competency in using network-critical technologies and products, such as Cisco IOS security features in Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention and detection systems.

Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professional Recognition
CNSS 4013 Recognition: The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) recognized that Cisco security courseware meets the CNSS 4013 training standard. By being compliant, the Cisco CCNP Security certification program provides the required training for network security professionals who assist federal agencies and private sector entities to protect their information and aid in the defense of the nation's vital information resources.
This advanced standard is intended for System Administrators responsible for the security oversight or management of critical networks.
This formal NSA and CNSS certification gives Cisco the authority to recognize those candidates who have demonstrated that they have met this training standard.
Candidates who have met the standard will be issued a letter of recognition acknowledging their completion of the related requirements. This letter of recognition can be used as confirmation of having met the requirements.

Course Content:
This course combines the essentials of Cisco's SND, SNRS, SNPA, IPS and HIPS into a 12 day bootcamp. Successful candidates will need to pass the following four exams:
 
  • 300-206 SENSS Implementing Cisco Edge Network Security Solutions
  • 300-208 SISAS Implementing Cisco Secure Access Solutions
  • 300-209 SIMOS Implementing Cisco Secure Mobility Solutions
  • 300-210 SITCS Implementing Cisco Secure Threat Control Solutions

  • Extensive Lab and Hands-On sessions
     
  • Each Instructor brings years of field experience to the classroom
  • Each student will "learn by doing" with hands-on labs following instructor led training
  • Student will have access to the following equipment:
     
    • 2900 and 3800 Series Routers
  • 2960x, 3850x and 4500 Series Catalyst Switches
  • IPS-4240 and IOS-IPS
  • ASA 5506x, 5508x and 5512x
  • 2500 Series Wireless Controllers and Aironet 1140 Series AP

  • Minimum Requirements:
     
  • Currently holds a valid CCNA Security
  • Two or more years working experience in implementing and administering LAN and WAN network environment
  • A basic knowledge of the Windows operating system with IPSec, authentication and encryption technologies
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP and fundamental networking concepts.
